Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Truthfully speaking, I’ve never really been a fan of Ice Age. In fact, I found the first movie slightly boring, the the second movie slightly irritating. It was irritating to me because of the characters Sid and Scrat, though I know most people actually like them as they are usually the comic relief.

I have to say that the third installment was way better than the first two, because I was laughing most of the time. I’m guessing it’s probably also because there are dinosaurs in the film (yes I’m bias because I just like dinosaurs). But hey, most of the funny parts were because of the dinosaurs! Not to mention that the 3 baby T-Rex were absolutely adorable!! (They actually remind me of Huey, Dewy and Louie). So yes people, go catch it if you haven’t, because they do deserve the 4 popcorns Melanie Olivero gave (she is one movie critique that doesn’t give out popcorns that easily).

Oh, oh, and I forgot to mention, I actually watched the 3D version!! The Boy was really nice to spend additional money to let me try out my very first 3D movie, and it was quite cool wearing the 3D specs to watch the film. Besides, he  looked especially cute in it!!! =D It’s such a pity though that I did not take a picture of him in it…

On a side note, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen was only mediocre to me (Melanie Ilivero only gave it one popcorn out of five!). While I am a transformers fan, I think I’m just a little disappointed that there wasn’t enough airtime for the individual Autobots like Arcee, Ratchet etc, though I did think that Soundwave was really cool…

The Contructicons also died too easily!! Not to mention that they changed the robots to become a 4-legged like creature when Devastator is actually a biped when they combine. I don’t really like it when they change the characters too much…

Overall, I felt that the movie was a little draggy, though the effects were pretty cool… Plus and minuses on both sides, which I felt it could have been much better.
