Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2008 nahele Leave a comment

I celebrated Halloween for the first time in my life, as my colleagues and I decided to stay back in our eerie hospital (Actually, it’s my department which is scary at night. The hospital is very well lit at night on the contrary).

So after having dinner at the nearby food centre, we headed back to our department, where Yoges switched off all the lights, and we had to navigate our way back to the office in the dark. It was scary!! And once we were in the office, we starting to ‘dress up’ in our little costumes. Presenting…

Yoges, our games mistress and organiser of the day as the little white cat.

Chiu Ling as the very sweet bunny.

Sudhasan as the devil with the furry hair…

And papa bear Jayson with a combination of leopard ears and devil horns =D

Eliz was the witchy one, while I got back my devil’s ears from Jayson and was a little devil myself =)

The night was spent playing charades in the dark, with the theme of scary movie titles, before we proceeded to watch a scary show itself. Ok, the movie wasn’t that scary in the others’ opinions, but being the useless-scardy-cat that I am, I was hiding behind my jacket most of the time. Jayson even went on to bully me by asking if I have memorised your cardigan’s tag. Bleah… But anyway, it was to my utmost relief when the movie finally ended, much to the amusement of the others however as I looked seriously exhausted from all the muscle tension =P

We went for a short walk around the hospital after that. And as much as it was quite a nice cooling day, I guess I must be suffering from the effects of the movie as I was still pretty much sensitised to all the shadows and darkness around the corners…

I am seriously a scardy cat… Meow…

Still, here’s the usual yearly sharing of Stickgirl’s Halloween art piece:

Happy Halloween! =)

3 Beautiful Things

Beauty is… Lying down on a bench and chancing upon a flock of white birds flying across the contrasting blue skies.

Beauty is… The silhouette of a tree against a crimson setting sky.

Beauty is… Walking with my eyes closed (even for a short while) to the pumping music of Ne-Yo’s Because of You.

Burnt Weekends

October 28, 2008 nahele Leave a comment

After two consecutive weeks where I burn my weekends by working at events, I feel tired. (The first was the WMHD event at PS where it was about 9am to 9pm on Friday and Saturday, the second was just last week where I was camped at Geylang Serai CC for the launch of the P.U.R.E Community event).

Now I can’t wait for my short overseas break though I view all of these events as training for future employment options =)

But truthfully speaking, I do not mind working on weekends as long as they return me the hours that I’ve worked on weekdays. In fact, I was just sharing with the Boy that as long I have 2 other weekdays off in exchange for my working weekends, I’m willing to take the job. Because not only is the entertainment on weekends more expensive, weekend crowds are also crazy!

The only problem is: there will be a clash in schedule with my dear Boy since his off days are on weekends! =(

Mooncake Moulds

October 23, 2008 nahele 5 comments

After so long, the moulds that I’ve ordered have finally arrived! I had been hunting for this non-traditional mould ever since I went for the mooncake making workshop with Phoon Huat last year. And silly me did not thought of buying the mooncake mould then. Thus, I was disappointed last year when after I’ve finally made up my mind to buy it, it was all sold out, and was disappointed again this year when the baking shop did not seem to stock it up at all.

But thanks to e’s joie, I’ve finally got my hands on it! =)

(Do check out her blog as well. She has got really lovely entries of the food she made/baked. Another website would be her Shop and Bake blog. Loads of interesting bakewares available too!)

WMHD 08 – Behind the Scenes

October 21, 2008 nahele Leave a comment

As usual, the shutterbug mode is on.
(Most of the pictures were taken using Jayson’s DSLR)

Here goes…

My brain child

Our interactive booth

Paper clay stegasaurus made by Jayson. The spikes came from a plant of which he ’stole’.

Helping out one of the kids with her paper clay work, of which she was ignoring me as seen in the photo…

Tried out a ‘product shoot’

Got bored after the rain. Looked upwards and saw raindrops hanging off a branch.

I then tried out a black and white shot. Not sure why Jayson loves this picture though.

A very cute shot taken by Jayson. Unknowingly posed by Hannah and Rahman, a very father and child scenario =)

And lastly, some group shots…

With the Corp Coms peeps Sharon and Mandy.

A final shot of the whole group who stayed till the very end. Do not be fooled by Jayson’s innocent wave-around look. He was disturbing me!! (Hence my expression…)
