Birthday Party

August 30, 2008 nahele Leave a comment

It’s the time of the year again when my youngest cousins get to celebrate their birthdays. With the elder sister’s birthday on 30 Aug, and the younger brother’s on 2 Sep, a combined celebration was in order.

This time, the extended family booked a chalet at Downtown East, where we were treated to really barbecued food by my uncles. After which, we had a birthday cake!

And it was super cute! Reminds me so much of Little Foot from the Land Before Time.

Family picture! Sadly my Aunt wasn’t around, as she had to fly overseas for work (of course she was unhappy with her company for that). But at least, she managed to spend time with her kids before she flew off. Plus, it was nice to hear the kids talk to her on the phone (even though the little boy kept telling his mom ‘I want dinosaur’!)

And the highlight of the day: our lovely princess, posing just for me =)
Not being able to wait to open her present, she tore open her gift and removed all the packaging so that she could dress herself up. Not to mention that she had my sister, Alina (my other cousin) and me to help her with the adornment, just like a model receiving help during a fashion runway!

Own Time Own Target

*Edited*

Knowing that I have a huge interest in the military, I knew that I had to watch the production ‘Own Time Own Target’. So, it was with much glee when I finally managed to get tickets to the show (after much difficulty that is).

Divided into 3 main plays: Full Tank!, Radio Silence, Botak Boys, the second one loomed around a pretty dark and sad theme, while I was very much delighted by the first and last ones. Hell, Bingrong could very much see my enjoyment from my constant laughters. So much so that I was really thirsty at the end of the play!

The actors of the production, I really got to take my hats off them. Not only are they versatile actors, they are also talented singers! The last play, Botak Boys, was more like a musical, which simply awed the audience and me. Not to mention all the sexual themes and jokes that come along with the 3 plays. Imagine watching 6-7 grown men in skimpy singlets, gyrating their hips to the music. Man… It doesn’t get any better than that, as I was thoroughly amused =)

*Edited*
Oh wow, the author of the first two plays just dropped me a comment! This makes me feel bad that I forgot to give them credits for their wonderfully written play! *Oops* If not for them, I doubt I would have an enjoyable Sunday night. So here’s many thanks to their creativity and their ingenuity for a marvelous production! =)

Fireworks Festival

August 24, 2008 nahele Leave a comment

Having missed 2 years worth of fireworks festivals, I made sure that this year, I would be a participant of it! Thankfully, my company had corporate rates for the event, as my friends and I quickly ensured that we booked a place for it on Friday =)

It was my first time at the floating platform, of which really got me excited. I very much wanted to watch the NDP this year, but missed out as I forgot to ballot for it. So imagine my joy =)

But a word of warning: the signage there is quite poor, as my joy was somewhat changed to frustration. There were many others who were there who had difficulty as well locating their seats, so most of us were flooding towards the marshal for help. But thankfully I was able to locate my seat after some time.

So here’s some of the pictures that I took. Pardon the poor quality as I was using my P&S with no tripod!

Beautiful fireworks for a beautiful day. It was drizzling just before the show started, and I am extremely thankful that it stopped in time for the display of pyrotechniques =)

So here’s very happy us at the end of the spectacular performance by France =)
