Celebrations @ Work

April 29, 2008 nahele Leave a comment

It’s our dear Dorothy’s birthday today, as the rest of my colleagues and myself devised a plan to surprise her. So out we went during lunch time to buy her an Awfully Chocolate cake, hoping that she might not discover it by chance in the fridge!!

Our plan worked, as the Outpatient Vocational Training OTs called for a ‘meeting’, only to see us gatecrash with tadah! Her chocolate cake =)

And I have to say, it was really a wonderful moment for me to see the surprise look on her face. Priceless…

While the others slowly streamed into the Relaxation Room where we held our little gathering, Shirley popped in with paper craft flowers for the birthday girl. Don’t be fooled though! She had those flowers only because her patients choose not to keep it! However, it seems like Dorothy is still very happy =)

Chilling out in the Relaxation Room (proudly done up by the 3 Musketeers of Creative Ideas, which includes yours truly, haha!)

Being in the shooting mode that I always am, I somehow got a picture of the 2 Jaysons lying on the rug (with quite nice effect). That’s when the rest coerced them into acting gay – by asking Mama Bear to give Papa Bear the bouquet of paper craft flowers. We sure had a blast of a time laughing at them! =D

And here is my favourite picture of the day – A group picture of 11 of us. Pity Eunice was not here in time…

As if this wasn’t enough, Elizabeth decided to be the cute girl again, by sending Dorothy an office window message to wish her happy birthday (We’re separated into OT Office 1 and 2 by a corridor, which coincidentally, both Elizabeth and Dorothy are just by the window. And If you don’t understand what those words mean, that’s because it’s in Japanese.)

What did the courteous birthday girl do in return then? Reply the window message with her own.

So, to end it all, here’s a simple compilation of the ‘office window conversation’ between Elizabeth and Dorothy.

Happy birthday my dear girl =)

As always with our monthly get-away-from-work-chill-out session, my colleagues never fail to bring laughter to my life.

Wedding Bells A Ringing

It was quite the experience for me as Bonnie somehow got me slightly involved for her wedding dinner (not to mention that it was also my first time!). While I was not part of her ‘姐妹团’, I was tasked with informing people where they were seated, aka, the receptionist cum red packet collector =)

Deciding to get there earlier with Audrey and Huixin, I got the chance to take a look at the suite of Regent Hotel, as well as marvel at the interior design of the hotel. As much as its exterior look as dull as an old building, the interior is just lovely!

It’s a pity I couldn’t get more pictures of the interior due to the lack of time…

In the midst of running around the rooms as Audrey needed to get her hair done, Huixin needed Audrey to do eye makeup for her, and me not wanting to be left alone in the room, I decided to accompany them to the Bride’s room where the hairstylist was located.

Heh… This scene is one that you definitely would not see that often =)

And while waiting, I managed to get this shot which I quite like! =)

Anyway, what’s the bad thing about being the receptionist girl? You tend to miss out on the first part of the dinner. Not that it’s anything special, but knowing me, I was starving to death while waiting for the chance to enter and at least get some food into my system. But, luck was on my side, as the waiters actually kept aside some food and delivered it to us! Imagine my happiness, haha…

Given the table that I was sitting at (which was with my colleagues, and Joyce!), it was non-stop laughter and nonsense. Joyce was high on all the wine that she had, and my colleagues were just at their nonsensical selves as usual. It was not a surprise that we were the loudest and most rowdy table, muahahaha… (But I have to say that sometimes, I do feel pretty embarrassed too!)

Eunice and Ivy; Shirley and Ken

And… We had the 3 bears!!
Papa Bear (Jayson T), Mama Bear (Jayson S), and Baby Bear (Yoges)!!
Perfect family portrait =)

Not forgetting Goldilocks of course, haha =)

This is the time too, that I manage to catch up with some of my other poly classmates. Here’s Pat and Nanthida for you. And it’s a pity that I missed out on the rest. Would have loved to grab a photo with them.

But all in all, I do wish Bonnie and Eddy and happy future ahead. Many loves dear =)

PS: She just looks so darn lovely in her wedding gown!! Plus with her hair accessory, she looks so Victorian! *Swoons*
