A Paragraph To Ponder

When friends lie or disappoint me time and time again,
I get a little tired.
But I still go along with them,
Accept the lie,
Continue listening to their mistakes,
Struggle to be unaffected by the hurting words, actions, decisions,
Just because i want to be there for them.

When women are being lied to,
Accepting the lies
Doesn’t mean they are stupid, ignorant.
It’s because
the liar means the whole world to them
That they have decided to appear as an ignorant, stupid woman for the liar.

Sporty Me

Some photos to commemorate the kick-start of my exercise session again (stopped due to overwhelming outings and the stupid rain).

Amazingly, I could still fit into my old hockey skirt. Damn I look like an oldie trying to act young…

Exploring T3

Having some free time on our hands, Audrey and I decided to pay a visit to Terminal 3. After all, it’s the new ‘in’ thing right? =)

I never knew that T3 was just directly opposite T2. This actually makes it really convenient, for all you have to do is just alight from the train station, and viola, you are already in between T2 and T3.

With shiny floors and bright lights, T3 does boast of novelty.

I really like the empty spaces.

But my favourite is actually the logo and branding of 3-Top, where all the shops are located for avid shopaholics.

And lookie here, you can actually peak into the departure hall. It really seems like a very nice place to chill while waiting for your flight. Not to mention the many more shops within the departure hall. 3-Top is mini compared to what’s inside =)

So right now, I really hope that one day, if I do ever travel overseas, I would like to have a chance to depart and arrive at the new T3. Let’s flyyy away… =)

Chill Out @ Esplanade

I realise that I’m starting to love my colleagues more and more, as the times we spent together are really fun, crazy, yet genuine. They are the people whom I know I can share my problems with, who never judges me, but seek to alleviate my issues. Last night’s chill out session was just one of the many times where we can just be ourselves, got to know each other better, and be there for each other.

Deciding to head to Esplanade (which I’m very glad because it’s been a while since I went there), Ivy, Shirley and I had a sumptuous dinner at Thai Express, before heading to the very vintage restaurant that I always pass by, but never enter. Here’s introducing, The Cookie Museum.

Apologies for the lack of photos, for words from me can’t exactly describe how lovely the place is. But if you are interested, I managed to google a couple of posts by fellow bloggers about the place. You can read it here and here =)

Surrounded by European vintage decor, coupled with the fact that you have a personal table for your tea, you cannot help but really feel like a princess/queen. Plus, the customer service is really good. I like the fact that they really spend time with you to introduce to you all their various cookies, be it the interesting ones, or the exotic ones. Be satiated by their Berry Light, to being intrigued by their Nasi Lemak flavours. Yea, I know that it sounds funny to be eating a cookie with Nasi Lemak or Hei Bi Hiam flavours, but trust me, they are really nice and yummy! Oh, and if you are interested in purchasing their cookies, even for festive seasons, they are more than happy to provide for you the freshest of the lot!

So, if you are ever keen to try out their cookies, and bask in the glory of the possibility of feeling like a princess, do head down to The Cookie Museum. It would be wise to place reservations too just in case, as being a small place and having people like me chilling out at the place for a long period of time, it can be difficult trying to get seats =P

Occupational Therapy Day Backlog

January 17, 2008 nahele 1 comment

In the midst of all the rushed planning, I was also photographer for the day. Divided into the seminar and carnival workgroup, I was of the former, and hence, ran about taking pictures of the event after all the decoration preparation was completed.

Decorating the lecture hall was quite a pain, as we tried our best to not make it too party like. Thankfully, the bunch of cut roses which I bought for a previous photo-shoot came in real handy, allowing us to transform the lecture hall into a nice relaxing arena!

With every lecture hall, one must always ensure that the sound system is in top notch condition. So there’s our dear Dorothy being in-charge of the AV system. Seriously, we were all awed by all the switches and what not! =P

And there’s also our registration girls, who ever so wonderfully helped to keep every one in check =)

So before you know it, the seminar event finally started.

And here’s our symbol of the event.

While it was really interesting to listen to the seminar about burnout, which I believe most people working would feel one time or another, the highlight of the event was actually our experiential session on using art as a form of therapeutic management for coping with burnout.

We had Yoges and Sau Peng being in charged of the pottery session.

Ivy and Peck Yan heading the collage group.

And Shirley and Jayson running the drawing group.

Even though it was our very first time organising a professional seminar, plus it was us 5 newbies novel experience in organising the seminar just 5 months into starting work, I suppose in the end, it all turned out pretty well. Sure there were some problems here and there, but at least it was a learning experience, as we discovered more about our working patterns, and we learnt how to cooperate with each other.

So kudos to us Occupational Therapists who made this whole event a successful one! It was really a joy working with them, as they never fail to put a smile on my face =)
