From Ubin With Love
Somehow, it seems like if we ever do meet up, we’ll meet up so often in a week, which seems to be some sort of a make-up for the lack of meet-ups previously! Yes, I was out again with my JC mates, as Ubin this time, was our destination of choice.

We’re leavingg… On a bum boattt… (*Hums)

Me and my ride =)
It’s really been eons since I last came to Ubin. Say 3-4 years ago? Or maybe 5?? But yea, it sure was a tough job cycling up those horrible slopes once again. Horrible, yet fun!! Sure my thighs were aching like mad, screaming for me to just stop cycling and walk it up. But no! I had to accomplish cycling up at least some of the slopes!

Off the beaten track
With the first destination to Chek Jawa, I had no idea why the guys decided to veer off the directions as given by a police officer we found standing in a hut, causing us to enter a forest trail with loads of mozzies!!

Plus, I also have no idea where my tom-boyish garang-ness disappeared to, as I screamed like a girl when I came into contact with yes, the mud. Where did the chor-loh Geri disappeared to?!?! Sigh…
But thankfully, we managed to find our way out of the mozzie-infested forest, and onto the main road we went again, before we arrived at one of the small beaches.

A lovely respite for Yilin and Alvin who wished to wash their feet off the mud. For myself, I decided to continue bearing with it still =P

Casualties of mud.
It was not long before we did finally make our way to Chek Jawa!! And with a tap available for washing, how could I possible miss it?!?!

Ahh… Bliss =) Haha…
First up, the Visitor Centre.

Say cheese!
Then next: The Coastal Boardwalk.

It just seems really really lovely to enjoy the sights of nature. The cool breeze against the hot sun, a truly lovely experience.

Check out the smiles =)
And lastly: The Mangrove Boardwalk.

I feel like I’m in primary science class all over again.
And then, we spotted this:

As if all the cycling wasn’t enough, we decided that this is another challenge we should take up. While it sure was not an easy task, hell, the feeling of achievement was good =)

Plus, one can get to see a bird’s eye view of the area. And, I spotted some cute birds!!

Finally, a group picture of all of us!
(Pardon my messy hair though, it was too windyyyyy!!)
Finally, it was time to head back home, as we were feeling really tired. Hmm… But is it really so? Chee Yee suggested cycling to the other side of the island when we reached back ‘Headquarters’.

Not a bad idea though, as we discovered the Secret Garden.

And a scarecrow wannabe =P
But yes, finally finally, it was time to really go home.

Good night Ubin. I’ll see you another time =)
With love, from Geri
