Guten Tag!!
It was a night of many ‘firsts’, as I attended my very first Oktoberfest celebrations!!
Running into the big white tent for one Bavarian meal, we could choose from spring chicken, pork knuckles or German sausages. Not forgetting of course, our free Erdinger drink! =)

Joining me are the SIA girls Alicia and Nicole (never thought I would meet up with Nicole again, but I did!), and the couple Kelly and Weixiong.

So that makes it a total count of 3 Fräuleins that I had in company with me for the night =)

The dark and light Erdinger beers. Mmm yummy!

And she does look really happy to be downing it, haha…

4 happy girls with their drinks (though Alicia’s drink is a fake dark Erdinger!!)

Very soon, the party is beginning to get started. With a live band performing, it was joy to some of the participants, as they started to dance to the music on the dance floor. And try as you may to hide, it might be a little futile as cameras would occasionally zoom into you doing your deed, while it is broadcasted to the entire arena via many big screens! I believe I was caught on screen for a while too…

So, while we aren’t that caught up with the festivities yet, Nicole and the girls started to do some palm reading!! It was totally hilarious as we discovered who are the jealous and possessive ones who might/might not have health issues =P

Oh oh! And guess who we finally saw?? Chuhua!! After so long awaiting for her arrival, we actually spotted her sitting just diagonally to our table with her big group of Esplanade colleagues.

The 5 happy Fräuleins =)
Anyway, in between all the toasting and merry making, our eyes caught a group of people on screen dressed in costumes sitting somewhere in the arena! Initially thinking that they might be the crew members/band performers who dressed up for the occasion, Alicia, Kelly and I decided to search for them for a photo-taking session. Little did we realise that they were actually the participants too! Only that they were from Germany and decided to dress up for the event!! So, thanks to the courageous effort of Alicia, they obliged and viola, a very lovely picture!

What was most ‘embarrassing’ or ‘weird’ was that while we took pictures with the friendly Germans, Singaporeans sitting all around us decided to snap our pictures as well! Gasp!!
Anyway, soon after that, the party really started going…

People started dancing on the benches and tables! While I’m not that brave as yet, us girlies decided to head down to the dance floor instead.

Leaving poor Weixiong in-charge of our girly bags as evidenced =)
But as I mentioned earlier that it was a night of many ‘firsts’, the curiosity got the better of me in the end, as later on, I joined the dancing Chuhua on the bench! It sure was scary as hell, as the bench was moving quite a bit with many people jumping on it. Not to mention that I was also in my high-heeled boots! Many a times I swore I almost fell off, but thanks to the support from Chuhua, I was spared from having a TBI (traumatic brain injury)…

My Cedar Darlings

And Alicia with her guardian angel, who was too shy to show his face. We all agreed that he was cute though!

Finally, what’s left are the Fräulein Beer Maids that are left uncaptured on my camera. Heh, as always, I’m always interested in their costumes, hence the wish to snap a picture of them. Weixiong does however look happy in this picture =)

Here’s sweet Liting, our Cedar senior who somehow recognised me. I guess I must really have been quite prominent in school =)
Very soon, it was time to call it a day, as the rest were starting to get tired. But before heading off, some of us decided to bring back a little momento. Kelly got herself a big Oktoberfest mug (which I kind of regretted not getting one also), whereas for me, I got myself an Oktoberfest hat!

Did I mention how much I love hats?? Haha… Now you do =)
Auf Wiedersehen!!
