2007 Summer CAPL

Woot! Yet another DotA tournament where I could enjoy myself. A total day spent there from about 1030 to 1900 saw me pretty happy, as I was shuffling between watching Zenith play and supporting the DsD peeps. So yea, congratulations to Zenith for topping the elite category, and to DsD for winning 3rd in the open category!

Dinner was then at NYDC with the whole bunch of DsD guys, giving me much laughter just by listening to all their stories. But then, my worst fear came… They wanted to play DotA, which caused me much embarrassment due to my lousy skills. Seriously, they do not understand the meaning of “Please, no”, “I am a lousy player”, and “I will become a feeder”, as Shixian and Kel coerced me into joining them. Bleah!

Still, it was fun hanging out with them, as we tried out ancient DotA maps, much to the amusement of all of us. Speaking of ancient, I also tried out an ancient MooMoo map on my own, hahaha… Moomoo? Moomoo… =)

APOTC 2007

Finally, a backdated entry on my presentation during the 4th Asia Pacific Occupational Therapy Conference in Hong Kong! It was because of this conference that my family decided to head there for our holiday in hope to kill two birds with one stone. So, while I was ’stuck’ in the conference, they were happily gallivanting in Hong Kong without me =P

My FYP group had the opportunity to work on our senior’s work, and with all our hard work, a new assessment tool kit culturally adapted from the original version was born: the Activity Card Sort (Singapore Version) – ACS (SG). However, Singapore was not the only one involved in such a project, as similar ideas were also taken upon by other countries. As such, with Hong Kong and Australia having their own versions of the ACS, a symposium instead of the usual free paper presentations was chosen.

So here’s all of us on the symposium panel.

And this is me, fumbling and bumbling through my presentation!

You can imagine my relief when it was finally over, as I was presenting to Occupational Therapists from all over the world! From Canada to Israel, the Philippines, Japan, New Zealand, Slovenia and so much more!!!

My little moment of fame with the podium/poster =D

So here’s a big thank you to my team members, Liting and Kay Sing, as well as my missing members, Shiyun and Nanthida. For without them, without their hard work, without their ideas, and without their support, I could never have made it this far.

And not forgetting our lecturer Mr Lim Hua Beng, who was ever so kind to help and guide us all throughout this whole learning experience. Many thanks to everyone!

It’s another milestone reached, as today is the day that I officially become an Occupational Therapist at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH). As usual, any nice picture, when made into a card, will make anyone look ugly…

Tis one whole week of orientation before I formally start work in the wards. A little slow I would say, but hey, I ain’t complaining =)

2007 DotA PAYM League

My love/interest for watching DotA matches is still running strong, so much so that I’ve been making my way down to community centres just to catch the various DotA Competitions. Considering that I stay in the East, and my fellow buddy Shixian stays in the West, distance is no stumbling block for either of us. While I made my way to Ulu Pandan CC the other time to accompany him and to support his fellow DsD friends, this time, he made his way down to Sengkang CC for pure entertainment in watching DotA matches.

And while the time spent at Ulu Pandan was only so-so in my opinion due to the cramped space, lack of commentaries and chairs, I have only one word to describe my day at Sengkang CC: FUN!!!! Furthermore, the commentaries by Kel and Zenith’s Ant was totally hilarious!

So right now, I can’t wait for the WCG 2007 Asian Championships at Suntec in 2 weeks time!!!

iPod Shuffle

I’ve never had a need or a wish for an MP3 Player. But it seems that fate decided to be kind, and bestowed upon me my very first MP3 Player, free of charge.

A lovely colour too =)

So, Geri, meet iPod. iPod, meet Geri.
